DESCRIPTION:THERE is STILL TIME to JOIN US!!!  Join Us at ALT’s Eco Festival L/A – A Celebration of Environment\, Conservation\, and Community Well-being! \nDear Friend \nWe are excited to invite you to attend\, volunteer\, or participate in our upcoming newest event Eco Festival L/A\, hosted by the Androscoggin Land Trust\, on Saturday\, June 15\, 2024. This event showcases those that  environment\, conservation\, healthy living\, and overall community well-being. We are still accepting participants\, vendors\, food trucks\, speakers\, and demonstrations that align with these components. \nEvent Details: \n\nDate: Saturday\, June 15\, 2024\nLocation: Simard Payne Park: 46 Beech Street Lewiston\, ME 04240 Parking nearby at garages.\nAnnual ALT River Clean Up: Annual ALT River Clean Up: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM\n\nJoin us in cleaning up trash along green spaces\, parks\, and river banks. Land stewards and water steward volunteers\, including paddlers and some boaters\, are welcome to participate in the waterways. Please note that participation is at your own risk in the river\, as the Androscoggin River has fluctuated wildly in the past few months. We will post advisories as the event draws closer and provide information on common places to launch or depart with your watercraft\, use of safety and proper equipment\, and the signing of waivers before or at the beginning of participation. Volunteers are always needed and welcome\, including individuals\, corporate groups\, and walk-ins. Merchandise may be limited\, if offered for the event. \n\nFirst Annual Eco Festival L/A: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM\n\nThe Eco Festival L/A offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your products\, services\, and initiatives to a diverse and engaged audience. We have a variety of opportunities for involvement\, including: Don’t worry …we hope to offer this event annually and grow year to year. \n\nVendor Booths: Share your environmentally friendly products\, brand and services\, or promote your environmental or conservation organization.\nFood Trucks: Provide delicious and healthy food options to our attendees.(LICENSED in LEWISTON)\nSpeakers/Demonstrations: Educate and inspire with presentations and demonstrations related to conservation\, healthy living\, and well-being. SUMMARY:Paddle After Hours with ALT at RiverFest!
DESCRIPTION:Join Androscoggin Land Trust at RiverFest Friday\, June 17th for a leisurely paddle and tour of the riverfront led by former ALT Executive Director Jonathan LaBonte! \nCheck out the full schedule of events for RiverFest here: \nPaddlers will leave Lewiston’s Simard-Payne Park by 5:30 p.m. for a tour to explore the nearby river\, learn about local history\, gaze up at the cities on either side and observe the outflow of the historic canals\, and paddle to the confluence with the Little Androscoggin River\, before regrouping at the shoreline next to the newly inserted boat dock on the Androscoggin River. \nThe event is a great opportunity to learn more about the river and local history while enjoying a laid back paddle before or after enjoying the activities at RiverFest. We hope to see you there! \nPlease bring a canoe\, kayak\, or stand-up paddle board (SUP) (experienced SUP paddlers only)\, and a United States Coast Guard approved flotation device (life-jacket). There will be canoe and kayak rentals available provided by Webb & Sons Rentals. Single canoes and Kayaks are $20 for the event\, tandem is $30\, including paddles and PFD’s. DESCRIPTION:The Androscoggin Land Trust (ALT) and the Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce are proud to partner for this year’s River Race as part of the 2021 RiverFest lineup of activities. For prior participants\, please note the changes to the racecourses this year. These changes have enabled you to register for up to two races. The River Race is an exciting\, family-oriented day celebrating the Androscoggin River\, the Auburn and Lewiston Downtowns\, and highlighting the contributions the river makes to outdoor recreation opportunities and the local economy. Observers\, race team supporters\, family\, and friends are welcome to participate in the festivities at no charge.\n\n2021 Race Course Options\n\nFamily Fun Paddle:\nAn approximately 1.5-mile course\, where racers put in at the docks in Simard Payne\, line up under the pedestrian bridge\, and compete to the finish line at the Lewiston boat launch on Lincoln Street.\nFalls Run:\nAn approximately 2.25-mile length course\, where racers put in at the docks in Simard Payne\, line up at pedestrian bridge\, paddle upstream ½ of a mile\, to the Great Falls\, and then race down to the Lewiston boat launch on Lincoln Street.\nLA Scavenger:\nAn approximately 1 mile\, fun and silly course\, where racers put in at the docks in Simard Payne\, paddle across to Auburn’s Little Andy Park for a quick scavenger hunt for your team’s marker\, and resume back to the docks in Lewiston.\n\nPrizes will be awarded after the race at Simard-Payne Park to the top 2 finishers in each category.\nLearn more and register by following this link: https://business.lametrochamber.com/events/details/2021-riverrace-hosted-by-the-androscoggin-land-trust-alt-and-the-lewiston-auburn-metropolitan-chamber-18962\n
