AUBURN — Maine Source Homes & Realty is celebrating 50 years by giving back to the Lewiston-Auburn community. The company’s “Helping Our Neighbors Campaign” has identified six local nonprofits and charities to support this year.
Jon Mercier, designated broker/agent at Maine Source Homes & Realty, offered a check for $2,700 to the Androscoggin Land Trust, the first of the six beneficiaries, at Side By Each Brewing Co. in Auburn on March 31.
“Thanks to the hundreds of cherished and valued customers we’ve served since our founding in 1972, Maine Source Homes & Realty is blessed to be celebrating 50 years in business. We feel this success delivers an opportunity to give back to the community we love,” Mercier said in a news release.
“Maine Source’s financial support couldn’t be more timely, as Androscoggin Land Trust embarks on a fundraising campaign to acquire and conserve Camp Gustin on Loon Pond in Sabattus,” Land Trust board member Jim Pross said. “With this help from Maine Source, we are building momentum in our effort to protect Camp Gustin for public camping, hiking and continued Boy Scout uses for generations to come.”
The “Helping Our Neighbor Campaign” is funded by Maine Source Homes & Realty’s team of agents, as well as the company’s clients. For each house closing with which the company assists clients during a given two-month period throughout 2022, the company donates $100 to one of the six beneficiary charities/nonprofits.
In turn, Maine Source Homes & Realty asks the selling or buying agent, along with the client, if they would like to match the donation. This fundraising strategy resulted in the $2,700 donation to The Androscoggin Land Trust.
